We watch A Christmas Story ever year while surrounding the fireplace amongst a big pile of pillows. This will the first year in 10 years without our dog, Zakk, however. A sad Christmas :(

ReplyDeleteEvery morning on Christmas all of my siblings sit on the stairs until my Mom says that we can get up to go to the dining room table to open up our stockings. We always make sure to get a picture of us on their steps too!
ReplyDeleteOur family tradition is making an advent calendar, doing the local Vine Street Lights, driving around looking at Christmas lights, and picking out our tree. Then we all open our Christmas jammies on Christmas eve and watch a Christmas Story while drinking hot chocolate.

And a tradition that is new to me, but my Husbands family has done for years is going to be introduced this year. They always have home-made Perogie and Polish sausage on Christmas morning for breakfast and this year my MIL is teaching me how to make it so that we can do the same each year!

Our family tradition is opening all our presents on Christmas Eve, then one bigger present Christmas morning! I can't remember a year when we didn't do it this way, and I hope to carry it on for my kids when I have them! Luckily my husbands family opens all gifts on Christmas Day so we can celebrate with both :)

Every Christmas Eve, we go to 4 o'clock mass with my 80+ grandmother then to her house for LOTS of finger foods and sweets. And, I still wake the whole house up at 5am on Christmas morning to see what Santa brought and open gifts. And I'm 32yo. :)
